Scoring

For individual events:

1st place tie - four points each, and no second place

2nd place tie - two and one half points each, and no third place

3rd place tie - one and 1 half points each, and no fourth place

For relay events:

1st place relay tie will result in each team being awarded three and one half points. Ribbons are awarded for first place through eighth place for all events and heats. Each swimmer is allowed to swim a maximum of three individual events and two relays, per meet. With the Gator team being so exceptionally large, most swimmers will only swim the minimum and usually one relay. Each swimmer must swim a minimum of one event, per meet regardless of heat number.

There is one false start allowed for each swimmer in any event for age groups: 6 & under, 7 & 8, and 9 & 10 years old. There are NO false starts allowed for age groups 11 & 12 years and older. A swimmer who is disqualified for a false start shall not be permitted to swim the event - not even unofficially.
